Terms And Conditions
The terms on which Salter Surveying Services provides its services.
Last updated: July 2026
About These Terms
These terms set out the basis on which Salter Surveying Services ("we", "us", "our") provides its services. By instructing us or using our website, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.
Who We Are
Salter Surveying Services provides surveying and site management services across the UK. If you need to reach us, you can do so through our contact page.
Our Services
We provide a range of surveying and site management services, as set out on our website. The exact scope of any work is agreed with you before we start, so you know what is included and what is not.
Quotes And Fees
We provide a quote before starting work. The quote is based on the information you give us and the scope we agree. If the scope changes or the work turns out to be more involved than expected, we will discuss any change in cost with you before proceeding.
Your Responsibilities
To help us do a good job, you agree to:
- Give us accurate and complete information
- Arrange safe access to the property or site
- Tell us about any known hazards or risks
- Respond to our questions in good time
- Pay our invoices in line with these terms
Access To Sites And Properties
Much of our work depends on access. Where access is not available, is unsafe or is delayed, we may not be able to complete the work as planned. Any wasted visits or delays caused by access problems may affect the cost and timescale.
Reports And Deliverables
We produce our reports and deliverables with reasonable skill and care, based on what is reasonably visible and accessible at the time of the survey. A survey is not a guarantee that no other issues exist, particularly where areas are concealed or inaccessible.
Our reports are provided for your use and for the purpose agreed. They should not be relied on by third parties without our written agreement.
Payment Terms
Our invoices are due within the period stated on the invoice. We may charge interest on late payments in line with UK legislation. Where a deposit or staged payment is agreed, work may not start or continue until payment is received.
Cancellation And Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give us as much notice as you can. Cancellations or changes at short notice may incur a charge to cover time and costs already committed.
Liability
We carry appropriate insurance and we stand behind our work. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by law and, where applicable, to the value of the fee for the work concerned. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable or that arise from information or access issues outside our control.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Intellectual Property
We retain the intellectual property in our reports, drawings and other materials until any related fees are paid in full. Once paid, you may use them for the purpose they were provided for.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any part of our service, please tell us. We take complaints seriously and will work with you to put things right. Contact us through our contact page and we will respond promptly.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
Changes To These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your work is the one in place when we agree it with you.
